2023 BoerBoel GB VI Best of the Best Show Categories
In the first of several exciting updates this week, we are pleased to announce the 2023 BoerBoel GB VI Best of the Best Show Categories.
We always strive to host the best events for the community. In previous years we have broken records and this year is also going to be a big year.
Following feedback from our record breaking show in October 2022, we have added some additional club categories. This means more opportunity to win a rosette or trophy or two!
In 2022, Boerboel GB promised change and improvements and we will always deliver!
The 2023 BoerBoel GB VI Best of the Best Show Categories will be split into two parts.
Best of the Best Show Categories
For the preliminary rounds, there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd places with the 1st and 2nd placed dogs progressing on to the championship rounds.
2A Female 3-6 Months
2B Male 3-6 Months
3A Female 6-9 Months
3B Male 6-9 Months
4A Female 9-12 Months
4B Male 9-12 Months
5A Female 12-15 Months
5B Male 12-15 Months
6A Female 15-18 Months
6B Male 15-18 Months
7A Female 18-24 Months
7B Male 18-24 Months
8A Female 2-5 Years
8B Male 2-5 Years
9A Female 5 years & older
9B Male 5 years & older
Championship Rounds
In the Championship rounds, a champion and reserve champion will be selected from the winners from each championship round. This culminates with the final dogs competing for titles of Boerboel GB Grand Champion and Boerboel GB Dog of the Day.
10a and 10b – Sub Junior Champion – 1st and 2nd Place from Classes 1-3
11a and 11b – Junior Champion – 1st and 2nd Place from Classes 4-6
12a and 12b – Senior Champion – 1st and 2nd Place from Classes 7-9
13a Family Class Female – Female with 2 offspring (any sex)
13b Family Class Male – Male with 2 offspring (any sex)
14a and 14b – Grand Champion – 1st and 2nd Place from Classes 11 and 12
15 Dog of the Day – Only winners of classes 14a and 14b
Junior Handler
Junior Handler categories are where the up and coming talent from the younger ranks gets to take part and show off their skills and abilities.
JH1 Junior Handler aged under 13 years old
JH2 Junior Handler aged over 13 years old
Boerboel GB Club Categories
The second part of the show is the Boerboel GB Club categories. These categories are specified by Boerboel GB.
New for 2023, Boerboel GB Owners categories preliminary rounds, there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd places with the 1st and 2nd placed dogs progressing on to the championship rounds.
This category has been added specifically to encourage owners to participate in showing their own dogs against other owners. This is an excellent opportunity to owners work with their dogs, enhance communication with their dogs and most of all, have fun!
The Boerboel GB Owners categories are only open to owner’s dogs and not dogs owned by breeders.
Owners Sub Junior 3-9 months
Owners Junior 9-18 months
Owners Adult Female
Owners Adult Male
Boerboel GB Owners Championship Rounds
In the Championship round, a Boerboel GB Owners champion and reserve champion will be selected from the 1st and 2nd place dogs from the preliminary round.
Owners Champion – Only first and Second of Owners Classes
Boerboel GB Non Standard Categories
The Boerboel GB Non Standard categories are open to owners and breeders. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the non standard categories with the 1st and 2nd place being named as Non standard Champion and Reserve Champion.
The Non category is open to dogs that do not meet the SABBS breed standard.
